“Really,” she grinned, blushing slightly…wow, when was the last time she’d done that, probably not since she’d turned 20, at least. It was kind of…nice. “I’m glad you think so. Alice, our housekeeper/nanny, taught me. It’s usually what I do when I’m feeling stressed out or worried. So, in this line of work I got a lot of practice pretty fast. I also like to cook when I’m happy though, so, I’m basically cooking almost all the time, I guess…” She laughs at herself. “Dinner together would be lovely, any idea what we should do until then? Or should I hold off until after breakfast for that kind of talk?”“Did I just make the Chel Grayson blush?” Roy grinned at her before taking another swig of his orange juice. “Well, Alice is amazing. I wish she had taught me how to cook. You’re amazing at it, Chel. Keep on cooking.” Roy continued to eat the omelet, enjoying it greatly. It was tasty, to say the least. Very well made.” He chuckled at her talk of dinner, the same thought process had gone through his mind, too. “Maybe it is too early. Though really, it depends on your mood. Whatever you like. Like I said, I’m not very picky.”
Chel giggled, covering her face slightly, “I was just thinking the same thing, actually. What is this strange power you have over me, there, handsome?” She chewed thoughtfully on her breakfast, “You know, I could teach you how to cook if you wanted. It could be fun, just the two of us~!” She winked at him, the uncharacteristic blush beginning to fade. “Perhaps that’s what we could do today. I could start teaching you to cook, and then we could go out? You mentioned seeing a movie earlier, didn’t you?” She took a drink of her juice, peering at him over the rim of the glass.
“Don’t know, goddess, but I’d like to find out.” Roy winked at her before enjoying another bite of the omelet. “That sounds nice. I already know how to cook some things, but they’re usually not very good at all. Don’t even try to get me to bake. I’m terrible.” Roy nodded at her, thinking about their options. “Movies sound good. Very good. Unless you had something else in mind? We could always go to the park or do something else.” Roy would enjoy spending the day with her.
Chel waved her hand dismissively. “I’m sure you’re a fine cook, Roy. You should make something for me sometime, and we can test this theory…In fact~! That is how we could start off our lesson! That way, if you’re already a superb cook, and merely being modest, we won’t be spending all our time in the kitchen. Not that I don’t enjoy seeing you like this.” She finished off her omelette, chewing as she considered what he had just said. “They both sound great~! Is there any possibility we can go to the park and then see a movie? I do really enjoy being outside, but as long as I’m in your arms, I think I’d be happy anywhere.” She took another gulp of juice, licking her lips.
“Chel, I’m serious. I’m not a good cook at all. I can make maybe pasta and chicken. That’s the extent of my knowledge.” Roy chuckled to himself as he remembered all those times he had almost burnt the tower down. He had almost killed Bee by giving her something she was allergic to, and Mas y Menos refused to eat his cooking after he burnt their nuggets and fries. “I can try, Chel. Can’t say you’ll enjoy it, but I can try.” Roy finished his breakfast and wiped his lips with a napkin. “Of course. That sounds like a good idea.” He smiled at her last comment. “As if I don’t love having you in my arms? I think it’s mutual.”
“Excellent~!” she exclaimed. “It’s a date, then~! As far as the cooking goes though, I want to assess your level of knowledge regardless, it seems like a good way to determine where to start with helping you.” She kicked back the last of her orange juice and walked over to collect his plate, wrapping her arms around him and kissing him. Sauntering over to the sink, she dropped their dishes in and began to fill the sink. “Always important to remember to clean up~!”
Roy chuckled and shook his head as he made his way to the kitchen. “Uh uh uh, pretty lady.” He shook his head sternly at her and kissed her. “No cleaning for you. Go sit down and tell me about movies you’d like to watch or something while I clean up. Now way are you cooking and cleaning.” Roy kissed her forehead before picking up a sponge and starting to wash their dishes, including the bowl he whisked the eggs in and the pan Chel cooked the omelets in. “What would you like me to try to cook?”
“Really,” she grinned, blushing slightly…wow, when was the last time she’d done that, probably not since she’d turned 20, at least. It was kind of…nice. “I’m glad you think so. “Stud with big, strong arms like you? Sure, I’m sure you’ll get those eggs well beaten,” Chel giggled and wrapped her arms around him, kissing him. “If you are going to do that you may use whichever kitchen implement you would like. I just thought a fork would be less hassle than a whisk to find. As for anything else I need…” she hesitated, tapping her finger against her lips, “myself, I think I lost it in your eyes.” The acrobat grinned and kissed Roy again, before setting to work on chopping the toppings for their omelettes. “Oh, and some canola oil or cooking spray or something like that, so our eggs don’t stick.”Roy laughed at her comments and kissed her back happily. It was nice, having her around. Very good company. After kissing her the second time, he cracked the eggs and began whisking away. He walked over to the cabinet and took out the cooking spray for her. He grinned at her little joke, and kissed her neck as he set the spray on the counter. “Well aren’t you charming? Babydoll’s in a very good mood. I like that.” Roy chuckled and whisked the eggs to eggy perfection. “Like so?”
“Hmm, yes, yes I am. And I think we both know who’s to blame for that, don’t we?” Chel grinned at his expertly whipped eggs. “Simply perfection, Roy~! Just like you.” She kissed him again, dumping the contents of her cutting board into the bowl. She then grabbed the cooking spray and spritzed the pan with it, turning on the stove top burner. “Now, we just have to wait for it to get hot and we can cook our delectable delights. I’m glad I’m having breakfast with you, Roy.”
“To blame? I wouldn’t say blame. I’d say… thank. And thank you, not me.” Roy chuckled and kissed her tenderly as they waited. “You are perfection. I’m no where near.” He chuckled quietly before letting his arms wrap around her while he continued to kiss her, enjoying the feel of her lips against his. Her lips were so soft and inviting. He couldn’t ask for too many kisses from her. He sighed and pulled away a bit, smiling at her. “I am absolutely ecstatic that I get to have breakfast with you. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“Oh, well then,” she wrapped her arms around him, kissing him gently. “Well, then, thank you very, very much, Roy.” Chel giggled as he kissed her, kissing back eagerly. “This must be how it works then, hmm? You’re happy to have breakfast with me, I’m happy to have breakfast with you, therefore, all that’s missing is…breakfast~!” She reluctantly peeled herself away from him to check the pan. “Well, it seems hot enough now. I should take care of this or else we won’t get anything to eat.” She kissed him once more, then set about cooking their breakfast.
“That’s right. Breakfast.” Roy chuckled and let her go, then watched her cook. After wondering how he could help, he decided on grabbing the glasses he had gotten and filling them up with orange juice. He prepared the table with placemats, napkins, and silverware. Upon returning, he loosely wrapped his arms around her from behind and watched what she was doing. “Need any help?”
“Hmm…help? Well, you could get me some plates for these, that would be useful. Other than that, just keep being you.” Chel grinned at him, turning slightly to kiss his neck. “The table looks lovely, by the way, Roy. We really will dine like royalty, won’t we?”
“Plates, got it.” Roy chuckled at the kiss, then kissed her temple. He grabbed a couple of plates and set them on the counter, then returned to his spot behind her. Hopefully, he wasn’t crowding her. He just liked holding her. “Heh, I almost put on candles, but that would be too much for breakfast.”
Chel grinned broadly. She was thrilled that he was as physically affectionate as her, loving every time he made contact with her. “Thank you, honey.” She flipped the omelettes down onto their plates, one for each of them. She laughed lightly, “I think you’re right on that count, candles at breakfast would have been a little silly.” She rotated and kissed his cheek, “For dinner, perhaps?” Grabbing their plates, she nodded at the table. “We should eat these before they get cold…cold eggs are gross.”
“You’re welcome babydoll.” He really liked the petnames. Funny… he wasn’t much of a petname kind of guy before. “Breakfast and dinner together, hm?” He raised an eyebrow at her and took one of the plates, a smile curling his lips. He would enjoy that. He set the plate down, then pulled out her chair before sitting down opposite of her. He winked at her and raised his glass at her. “Thank you, Chel. It smells delicious.”
Chel smiled softly and played with the hem of her shirt. “Yeah, if you want…I know I’d like it…” She grinned back at him when he winked. “I’m happy to have cooked for you, handsome. I only hope it tastes as good..” The young woman was fairly convinced that it would taste pretty good, but she wanted to hear Roy’s opinion on her cooking regardless. Something about being with him made everything seem so effortless.
“Dinner together it is then.” Roy smiled and tried a bit of the omelet, then immediately went for a second, bigger bite. He let himself chew and swallow before grinning at her. “Chel, this is amazing. Seriously, where did you learn to cook like this? It’s great!” Roy took a sip from his orange juice and ate another bite, humming in appreciation at it. It really was good. One of the best omelet’s he’s had.
